To develop independent, life long learners with strong foundations of literacy and numeracy through real, student driven, inquiry learning using ICT as a tool.
We hope that the information on this wikispace will enable parents to draw on ideas and activities to use at home, which will, in turn, support their child's literacy learning at school, for the curriculum areas writing, spelling and reading.
Each year level has links to learning phases, such as "Experimental" or "Transitional". These phases are named according to the First Steps Literacy resource.
Each phase name represents a developmental stage in literacy learning. Students will work within a phase for more than one year, such as in Years Seven and Eight when students are expected to be working within Transitional Phase for writing.
